Establishment of a working group between the two statutory agencies with terms of reference a mapping exercise between our far standards and the ofa standards for provider and instructor courses engagement with our respective stakeholders (such as the department of health, qqi, phecc recognised institutions (ris) and ofa training providers) to ascertain their view consideration of current quality assurance and monitoring processes and mechanisms within phecc and hsa for far and ofa courses. An example is phecc’s quality review framework for ris. We are currently drafting detailed faqs and information resources regarding this project to share with providers, ris and instructors. Timelines, steps involved and key milestones will be addressed in this communication.
All of our first aid trainers are qualified to de live r first aid courses by phecc. The council set the standards for education and training for pre-hospital emergency care in ireland. They publish the practical guideline (cpgs) and recognise institutions to provide training and education.
Who is this course for this course is specifically designed for anyone with an interest in becoming a qualified first aid responder course aim phecc (the pre-hospital emergency care council) has designed the first aid response (far) standard to offer appropriate training to individuals and groups who require a first aid skill set including cardiac first response. This standard is designed to meet first aid and basic life support (bls) requirements that a person known as “first aid responder” may encounter. The far standard meets the health and safety authority (hsa) requirement for occupational first aid training for the workplace. The child and family agency (tusla) guidance also recognises far as the standard for child care.

The objectives of mental health first aid ireland are: to empower people within our communities to address emerging mental health problems early and enable recovery to increase awareness of the signs and symptoms of mental health problems to improve attitudes towards people with mental illness and reduce stigma who should attend training? you do not have to be a mental health professional to do the training, it is relevant to anyone. This includes a family member, friend or work colleague. It also includes someone working with people, such as a youth workers. There are three mhfa courses: 1. Standard mhfa course. The mhfa course is a 12-hour course (4 modules, each 3 hours) that teaches people how to assist someone who is developing a mental health problem or in a mental health crises.
First Aid Responder (FAR)
The aim of this first aid instructor course is to provide you with the knowledge, skills and attitude to train others to be first aid responders.
We are a munster based provider of first aid training courses with a particular emphasis on cork city and county. Fetac registered and certified training. Qfa instructor. Registered cardiac first responder instructor. Pre-hospital emergency care council (phecc) registered. Cork first aid training can provide training courses at a variety of locations to suit our clients needs. On site training at your business or organisations existing premises. For individual training or training for smaller groups a private residence can be used.
This basic first aid course has an emphasis on dealing with emergency life threatening situations in the absence of the first aid responder and keeping the casualty alive until professional help arrives. Scene management burns, scalds & poisons.

Description: sports first aid course is aimed at anyone involved with any sports team whether you are a coach, player or parent. This course will give particular attention to applying information to sport specific scenarios and incorporates real life situations on a pitch. It is designed to teach you: on completion of the sports first aid course participants will have the skills to: an understanding of the principles of first response. The skills to provide necessary first aid until the arrival of qualified medical personnel. Necessary skills with dealing with emergencies. Essential life saving skills all participants who pass the course successfully receive a certificate of competency.
In having mental health first aiders spread throughout the company, you are letting your employees know that you care about their mental wellbeing, that it’s okay to speak up if you are suffering and that there are supports available when you do. In this way you will have taken a significant step to making your staff more open to, and comfortable with, the topic of mental health. This is a positive intervention, particularly in relation to the role it can have reducing stigma.

The key guiding principles and purpose of first aid, is often given in the mnemonic "3 ps". These three points govern all the actions undertaken by a first aider.
